We are turning two and to celebrate we are releasing new versions of our toolkit! Read on to find out more.

Enabling City
Do you like a good celebration?

Here at Enabling City we're big fans, which is why we want to celebrate our 2nd anniversary with you.

When our toolkit was first published in November 2010 it reached readers in over 60 countries and went on to be shared more 25,000 times. Your amazing support has connected us with communities in many corners of the world and we cannot believe the amazing things that have happened since then.

Shareable Magazine listed Enabling City in their World’s Top 10 Gov 2.0 Initiatives list. We spoke at Austin's inaugural SXSW Eco conference, NYC's Tactical Urbanism Salon, D.C.'s White House GreenGov Symposium, Barcelona's Smart City Expo and Rome's The Nameless City. We led webinars and workshops in three continents, contributed articles to truly great publications, and worked with amazing groups worldwide.

Thank you! Watching the incredible community that has formed around Enabling City has been the best part of these busy two years.

To celebrate, we are releasing Enabling City in three more languages: French, Spanish and Italian!

Enabling City

If the English toolkit was "a love letter to our community", these multilingual editions have been a true labour of love. We have partnered with incredible individuals from Cameroon to Chile to bring these versions to life for you.

We wanted to translate the toolkit because we realize that too many 'enabling' initiatives are getting lost in translation. Diversity and inclusion are a big part of 'place-based creative problem-solving' and it is our hope that these books will get more of us exploring and experimenting together.

And because innovations abound even outside the anglophone world, these multilingual editions feature guest forewords and afterwords written by leaders of grassroots and institutional initiatives from Chile, Argentina, France and Italy. Javier Vergara Petrescu of Ciudad Emergente and Manuel Portela of Chiripa tell their stories in the Spanish toolkit; pOlau and Maxime Leroy, director of the Collaborative Cities web-documentary, share their vision in the French edition, and Cristiano Siri of The Hub Rome and Gianni Dominici of ForumPA document their passion for social innovation in the Italian version. We hope you like what they have to say as much as we do!

So thanks again for your support and encouragement. Nothing beats the feeling of turning strong online connections into wonderful, real-world relationships.

And stay tuned for an even bigger update coming in early 2013. We're not done celebrating yet!
